Description

Lions, and Tigers, and Props… Oh, My! Follow the Yellow Brick Road into the creative world of theatrical prop making! In this nine-week hands-on course, students ages 12-18 will explore the art of transforming ordinary materials into extraordinary stage props as they help bring The Wizard of Oz to life. Using techniques such as foam carving and shaping, clay foam sculpting, and heat-tool crafting, students will learn to build, detail, and finish props that are both imaginative and stage-ready. From the whimsical to the wonderfully unexpected, students will develop practical crafting skills, problem-solving abilities, and creative confidence while collaborating on projects inspired by the magical world of Oz. No experience is necessary—just a willingness to experiment, create, and discover that there’s a little theatrical magic in every material!
