Description

Are you the kind of person who loves diving deep into the why behind the story? Do you light up when you connect the dots between history, scripture, and the stage? Then this is your class.
In Let My People Know, you’ll explore the powerful story of The Prince of Egypt through the lens of a dramaturg: a storyteller behind the scenes who researches the history, culture, and meaning that bring a script to life. (Yes, dramaturgy is a real career in professional theatre!)
Each week, we’ll dig into:
  • The biblical roots of the Exodus story
  • Real historical texts and ancient Egyptian culture
  • How context shapes character, design, and performance
  • And… how to turn your research into awesome, audience-ready playbill pages for our CYT community!
If you're a history buff, Bible nerd, or someone who loves helping others understand the deeper meaning behind a show—this is your time to shine. Join us and help tell the story beneath the story.
