Summer Family Improv: Laugh, Connect, Create Together

Welcome to our Summer Family Improv Class a place where laughter is loud, creativity runs wild, and families grow closer through the joy of improvisation.
This unique class is designed to bring families together through the magic of improv theater. Parents, kids, and siblings will play side-by-side as they learn to think on their feet, trust each other's instincts, and embrace spontaneity in a fun and supportive environment.
Throughout the session, families will explore the foundations of improv through engaging games and interactive exercises that build:
  • Confidence and creativity
  • Listening and teamwork
  • Quick thinking and imagination
  • Trust and connection within the family
Participants of all ages will discover the joy of saying “yes,” supporting one another, and creating unforgettable moments together often filled with plenty of laughter along the way.

Joanie Colson is a highly respected director, educator, and professor whose dedication to excellence and creativity has left a profound impact on students, colleagues, and the broader Theater community. Using her 35 plus years of experience, Joanie combines her deep-rooted values with innovative teaching methods, visionary leadership in every role she undertakes. A native of Phoenix and committed Christian, she is married to Rick, and has one son, Caleb.
