Description

In this high-energy, imagination-fueled class, students will become playwrights, composers, directors, and performers as they work together to create an original mini-musical from scratch!
Through guided devising exercises, the class will brainstorm characters, build a world, craft a storyline, and shape their ideas into a script. Students will learn how scenes are structured, how dialogue is written, and how to make sure every character has a purpose and a moment to shine.
Music becomes part of the magic as students explore how songs can move the story forward. They’ll experiment with rhythm, lyrics, and melody to create simple musical moments, whether it’s a character anthem, a group number, or a fun transition song.
By the end of the session, the class will have collaboratively devised and rehearsed their very own short musical performance. Along the way, students will practice problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, and confidence as they learn what it really takes to turn an idea into a show.
If they can imagine it, they can make it!
